next meeting

The next HMC-4 Committee meeting will be held in Rome in May, hosted by ENI.

In addition to reports on committee work items there will be a number of technical presentations covering topical issues and new developments.

asian forum

Following a successful meeting with local representatives in Singapore in September it is planned that an EI Asian Forum will be launched in 2008. The Forum will cover all HM areas, reporting directly into the HMC. The forum will provide an opportunity for local representatives to meet to discuss common issues and to propose new work items. Regional experts will also be directly involved in document development.

phoenix agreement - api/ei cooperation

The Phoenix Agreement, which provides for cooperation between the API and the EI in the development and maintenance of all petroleum measurement standards, has been in operation for two years. Members of both organizations are now familiar with joint working and a number of joint documents have been published, the most recent being API Ch17.10.2/EI HM52: Measurement of LPG and Chemical Gases on Marine Vessels and API Ch17.12/EI HM 51: Procedures for Bulk Liquid Chemical Cargo Inspections by Cargo Inspectors.

API Ch17.11/EI HM52: Gauging and Sampling under Closed or Restricted Conditions is almost complete and due for ballot in the next few weeks.
